Salem United Methodist Church is located at 133 S Liberty St, Orwigsburg, PA 17961.

We are on the corner of Liberty and Independence Street. Parking is available on both streets and the parking lot next to the Church Office. Our Office is located directly across the street from the Church Building.

If you are coming to Salem Church for the first time we invite you to enter via the main door next to the ramp on Independence Street. This entrance is handicap accessible. This will bring you into our Lobby. Immediately to your right will be our Welcome Desk. If you have questions don’t hesitate to ask our Welcome Desk Opperators!

Just past the Welcome Desk is our Holy Grounds coffee/snacks area. Please feel free to help yourself and bring your coffee to worship. Our Holy Grounds coffee and snack time happens after the Traditional Service and after Sunday School. Our services are held in the sanctuary, upstairs. Our worship space is air-conditioned.

Restrooms are located down the hall to your right just past our Nursery Room.

Ready for Worship? The stairs to the sanctuary are to the left of the Church Lobby. There is a chair lift for those who need it. Services will start promptly at their designated time. A greeter will meet you at the top of the stairs to give you a Sunday bulletin. If you’d like more information let them know you are new and they will give you a connection card to fill out!

Each Sunday we offer 3 unique worship experiences. Our 8:45 is a Traditional Service with hymns and liturgy. Our 10:45 Contemporary Service is a casual time with live band and modern music. At 6:30 pm, we gather for SNL (Sunday Night Live) worship, our coffee house style experience. All are welcome!

There will be many helpful and friendly church goers that can help you throughout worship. Visit the Welcome Desk by the main entrance for more information on our current events, or for any questions. You can relax in our social hall or lobby area and enjoy coffee and light refreshments before service begins. As you make your way up to the sanctuary you will be greeted by one of our ushers. Are you new? Let an usher know so they can give you a connection card! Get connected with the church, and get ready to worship with us! After service concludes feel free to introduce yourself to the church family and Pastor. We’d love to get to know you!

We have a come-as-you-are policy when it comes to dress code. There is no strict rules for what you wear to church on Sundays. However some familys do like to dress more traditionally for one service while others will dress down for our contemporary worship. We do reccomend wearing more polished attire for special services such as Easter and Christmas.

Yes! We seek to engage and teach children and youth in worship and all other aspects of community life. During both services (8:45 am and 10:45 am), children experience a new lesson through a children’s message lead by Pastor Warner. We aim to connect and spread God’s love and wisdom with today’s youth and children in many ways.

We also offer environments where the Bible is taught in a creative, relevant way. We provide many opportunities for children to participate in worship, including our weekly children’s message, Sunday School, and other Youth Programs.

Yes, we provide an infant / toddler nursery.  The nursery is staffed by a paid attendant for all Sunday morning services and Sunday School (ages infant – 5 years). Nursery Attendants are friendly, caring, hard workers. All of our Nursery Attendants and SUMC staff have their required background clearances and Safe Sanctuary training.
